Didn’t Boebert husband knock her up when she was a minor and he was early twenties? If that is the case, statement holds true

Edit: can someone fact check me on that? I want to be scathing and accurate

307

u/FistfullofFucks 1d ago

TLDR You are correct, conception likely occurred in February, March or April of 2004 when she was 17, and he was 24.

Now for the pedantic who want to see my “math”.

She claims she gave birth to her first son at 18 years old, in the same year her husband was arrested for flashing underage girls (February 2004), at the time he was arrested he was still 24. In the police report she is identified as one of the girls involved and her age is listed as 17, and her birthday is Dec 19, his is the 25th of April, so by the time he was convicted in November of 2004 he was 25. The only way this math works out, is if her oldest sons birthday is between Dec 19 to Dec 31 but I can’t find a specific source with a date but either way that means the child was was conceived while she was still a minor and likely before Jayson’s 25 birthday in late April.

Sadly I’m mobile and couldn’t find a good source for the legal history for Colorado statutes regarding what are now known as “Close-in-age” exceptions in cases of potential statutory rape, but it’s likely an exception would have been made in this case. Today, Colorado law already has the legal exception in place for their case, as it allows 16yo individuals to provide legal consent to an adult partner no more than 10 years their senior, IE 16 and 25 is legal, 16 and 26 illegal. I’m not passing judgement or giving tacit support in either direction but I felt the addition of legal context was a valuable addition to this discussion.

Big bloody oof. Thanks for doing the legwork on that. I would feel bad for her and the way she's been failed as a young woman growing up, if she weren't so evil and dangerous today. Lady needs buckets and buckets of therapy. She shouldn't be in any position of power, period.

151

u/FistfullofFucks 1d ago

She even openly admits that her mother was dependent on welfare and societies social net to raise her and her siblings and now she wants to burn that system down and make sure no one can follow her. This normal proceeds of follows her lamenting and bad talking her mother, so yeah therapy is needed but first she has to admit she has a problem.

20

u/SimonKepp 1d ago

I'm guessing her mother failed her hard and in many ways, so she's making the association, that it was because her mother received welfare, and not the more plausible, that her failings were related to the situation, that meant, that she needed welfare.

She strikes me as someone who have been abused her entire life, to the degree, that it has now become normal to her, and she's now trying to get back at her early abusers.

He was arrested at age 23 for exposing himself to underage girls at a bowling alley, including Boebert, making him a sex offender. Boebert had just turned 17 at the time. Apparently this incident made her fall in love with him (gross). A month later he was arrested for assaulting her.

He knocked her up when she was 17, she dropped out of high school and when she was 18 she gave birth and they got married.

She and her sex offended husband are very lucky her son wasn’t defending himself from the physical abuse her was experiencing with the assault rifles they put on an Xmas card. He actually would’ve been an example of a good guy with a gun using it against a bad guy/criminal.

Also they better have child services visiting the home. Many people are mandated reporters for child abuse and thus have to report “any known or suspected abuse or neglect.” In fact I’m realizing rn that I technically have knowledge that there’s likely/suspected abuse happening, meaning myself and my older sister and brother are mandated to call child services due to nature of our jobs.

FYI for anyone who’s not aware you don’t have to be a mandated reporter to make these calls…mandated just means you have to report it or you can get in lot of trouble. However, anyone in this comment section or who’s seen this on news can report this to child services. Which can be made anonymously if you don’t want to share your name. So for those of us who actually genuinely care about the well being of kids should probably contact the proper authorities.

Mandatory reporter here - I could be criminally charged if it were discovered I knew about suspected child abuse and didn't report it. And I'd lose my job, and probably never be able to get another job that the state deems as a mandatory reporter position.

Or people who smoke pot. Fiancee and I were regular smokers, she got pregnant and immediately stopped.. naturally its still in her system during the first visit and blood tests so the day after she's born and we come home we have to have a visit from CPS.. for pot smoked before finding out she was pregnant. Subsequent blood tests didn't have it because she immediately stopped, didn't matter. We still started out the journey with our first child with a visit and paper trail with CPS.

Thanks for the opportunity for my little rant, im still clearly salty 2 years later lol.

As someone who was an attorney for CPS/DCF , you are 100% correct, Sandberg. It may not go anywhere if there isn't a safety issue after assessment, but there should be an assessment.

159

u/myco-naut 1d ago

You wouldn’t believe how much of a mentally ill abusive addict one would have to be in order for Child Protective Services to intervene or remove the child.

With CPS hawk eyes on them, shitty people still abuse and hurt their children with no recourse.

CPS are saints and the work they do is crucial. This comment isn’t putting them down but spotlighting their lack of resources and authority.

When they are effective they are imperative.

Their work loads and red tape they have to deal with neuters their ability to intervene - and in the grand scheme of things; They are impotent to the ones who need the most nurturing.

If they are effective… foster care is another nightmare discussion.

72

u/djamp42 1d ago

One of the many reasons I can't support an abortion ban. They can't even take care of the kids that are living.

105

u/Visitor137 1d ago

I don't think that the act is an anxiety per se, but rather that people will find out about what's been happening at their cocaine orgies. I mean during the election cycle I seem to recall the candidate from Texas' wife being disrespected and he was acting pretty angry, but just a short time later he was acting all buddy buddy with the guy that did it, while the wife of that disrespectful guy seemed to get very annoyed whenever he tried to hold her hand?

The whole accusing people of being a cuck thing is sort of like if someone who rants about having normal sized hands, but then a pornstar who didn't get paid her hush money goes on talkshows and tells the world a story about small, freakishly shaped toadstools..... 🤷

Yup. Straight people love it when a homophobe turns out to be gay. Its a form of homophobia itself to say that gay people are the ones primarily responsible for their own oppression. When you know damn well that if you were left with a kid, had the alibi, or the power to avoid arrest, or the plausible deniability to know you'll get away with murder, sexual abuse, rape, etc you'd absolutely take advantage, you have to project. If you don't pretend this is the normal human condition, everyone does it and gets away with it, everyone would if they could, you'd have to face your own evil.

It's the same reason you find some secretly gay etc bigots who target gay people. They have the urges, they assume everyone has the urges to be homosexual, it's normal. They've decided to be strong, follow their pastor, their bible, and resist their urges and live a miserable fake life. They're strong. People who've not resisted, who're out there living their best fabulous life aren't better, aren't happier, no, they're weaker, lesser people for not resisting their urges and going against god, or custom, family, tradition etc.

This is also projection. All these anti-trans, anti-gay movements are fueled by some people who are so ashamed of their own self they must project that shame to others, and try to force out, happy people to feel that shame by making their very lives difficult, or even illegal. They must be taught it's wrong! Otherwise they've denied themselves happiness for nothing.

22

u/philcollinsphoever 1d ago

Really good comment. Honestly having me seeing these bigots in a different perspective thank you.

19

u/JustAnEmoProgrammer 1d ago

One of my worst experiences as a queer teen had been being "counseled" by a youth pastor and another elder at church about how "we all experience same sex attraction," but it's evidently the devil whispering to us, and a righteous person ignores those "sinful urges," and gets married and has a family. I'm going to assume that they were bi or gay, but I have been bitched out on multiple occasions for vilifying queer people by insinuating those people were one of us and not just homophobes. As they're pretending to be straight and assigning "sin" to our existence, I have been told "hate the sin, live the sinner" so many times by my family, I don't consider them to be one of us anyhow.

These individuals are the most dangerous. I say this as someone who went through "conversation therapy" with a Christian ex-gay "counselor."

I have a good relationship with my parents now but my father beat the shit out of me and my Mom. I did not even know calling the police was an option until I was about 15.

I tried to call a few times and my mother would rip the phone out off or off the wall to prevent me calling. It was hell. I hope he gets some justice because things are home right now probably suck for him.

371

u/jgonagle 1d ago edited 1d ago Helpful

Yeah I was physically abused growing up and didn't figure out 911 was an option til I was 15 either. I never tried calling, because I was afraid my abuser would convince the cops I was lying and make things even worse for me. And I feared that even if the police took my abuser away, I'd be blamed for breaking up my family (because I was repeatedly told that's what would happen if I ever blabbed about what was done to me).

As an adult, it's so obvious I was being manipulated into staying silent. Pieces of shit like Boebert are the scum of the Earth. I mean, ...your own child, the one person on Earth you're supposed to put before yourself. Absolutely disgusting.

124

u/Shadowwreath 1d ago

Similar case, abused growing up and never called the cops. Though in my case it wasn’t out of worry he’d convince the cops I was lying, it’s because my oder sibling called the cops and he successfully did it so I knew they weren’t gonna help. Made it all the funnier when I was 16 and he tried for my younger siblings, got blocked by me, tried to attack me instead, and got his shit rocked. What was less funny was when the cops came and threatened to arrest me for protecting my siblings and not him for putting me in a head lock and kneeing me in the face repeatedly.

51

u/jgonagle 1d ago

Holy hell man, that sucks so bad in a way I don't think people who didn't grow up in an abusive household can ever understand. Not just to be abused, but to be told you're the perpetrator by professionals too stupid and lazy to do their job. I hope things have gotten better for you and worse for your abuser.

Jeez, I was wondering how old the son was. Anyone can be abused but the physicality to "throw around" a 17 year old is astonishing. While at the same time Lauren is claiming that her son doesn't need help. Foolish of her and so sad for the boy.

There was a comment I saw years ago saying that 911 services should only be for those who work and pay taxes so wouldn’t surprise me if there were some republicans who genuinely think this is a good idea.

36

u/President_Skoad 1d ago

Yep. In a couple years anytime someone calls 911, they will need to supply their SS# so that they can pull up their tax records. They will then need to verify who they are by giving them their AGI from last years taxes.

That kid’s in danger and his mom is protecting the abuser. I don’t know who should intervene in this situation but their local community has a responsibility to get that kid to safety and the father into a courtroom.

1.6k

u/Hot-Bint 1d ago

I think unless there’s bruising or a significant injury and with the lack of a corroborating witness, they’re gonna leave it. Besides it’s Lauren Fucking Boebert she’d just scream like a banshee and tweet that she’s suing Garfield County cuz it’s woke and demand President Biden defund them or some shit. She’d find some way to grift off it.

740

u/PoppyTheDestroyer 1d ago

You’re right, and I hate it. My oldest brother “threw me around the house” when he was ~23 and I was ~12. Across the room, down the first half of the stairs, down the second half the stairs, etc. No bruises. Terror was real though. Granted, I never called the police cause I’d learned not to tell on him. But if the Boebert kid’s experience was anything like mine, bruises or no, he was abused, and both parents should be on the hook for it.

317

u/goodlifepinellas 1d ago

And see, the Crime Scene guys have these special UV lights nowadays that can expose bruises below skin level.

The ultimate failure, was the lack of dispatching a welfare check.

Right? What the fuck kind of dispatcher or cop actually believes a follow-up call later to clarify the person complaining of domestic violence was not actually telling the truth?

From personal experience, the "spare the rod" religious abuse crowd is REALLY good at beating kids without leaving evidence. They're also really good at dodging CPS. When my mother and stepfather were administering Godly Discipline in the 80s, they were getting all their tactics from actual books written on the subject.

158

u/Hot-Bint 1d ago

Yup, no bruises, no witnesses and make sure to establish with the cops your kid has a “history of lying”. Boom! Case dismissed

Yup. The motherfucking Pearls and James Dobson. The first literally telling you what kind of plumbing hose to buy that won’t leave marks and the latter advocating in his early edition books to literally not stop beating your child until you’ve made them submit like a dog.

These people are fucking pedophiles. I swear they all get some savior hard-on from “training up” their kids. It should 100% illegal to strike children.

99

u/ApocalypseWood 1d ago

My mother once told my father, when he came to pick me up for a monthly visit, that he needed to spank me every day, even if he didn't see me do anything wrong. When he asked why the fuck he would ever do that, she said that it was a way to make me behave when no one was watching. Because, obviously, I had done something wrong that day, she just hadn't caught me.

I'm 40 years old and I still deal with the effects of that trauma. Fuck James Dobson.

→ More replies

48

u/Sc00paP00pa 1d ago

It's generational trauma. Not that I'm excusing the behavior, but when you're simple, and especially when you're conservative, your mind is programmed to do what was done to you. lack of critical thinking and all that.

I keep reading about how the younger generations are shifting more left, the internet is opening their eyes etc. I really hope so, but I'm not convinced. These people, through the church and other propaganda machines, will keep their children in their belief system, for the most part.

They are even better at dodging CPS when they are working with CPS

Source - was foster kid in private Christian foster agency.

Their favorite methods are food restrictions and cruel punishments that don’t leave physical marks.

Raise your arms like a cross. All the way parallel to the ground. Cmon arms up. Now stand there for 5 minutes-5 hours.

Once I fainted standing up.

Yes, it was reported and I was visibly malnourished when adopted by an equally zealous, but luckily less abusive, Christian family whom I no longer talk to.

No, there’s no record of the report, no nothing came of said report (they got 7 more foster kids after me - found out from their kid who is dead from an OD since I last talked to him) and I didn’t get my case file until way after the statute of limitations was up.

I’m 32 now. This has been happening for a really, really long time. For every one of these stories you glimpse, there’s so many that are never told.

In my township you can’t cancel a 911 call. We had a couple of incidents when the kids were small and they dialed to “try it out”. The cops explained that you can’t cancel it because they need to see that someone isn’t holding you hostage while you call to cancel it. And it sounds like that’s pretty close to what happened here.

54

u/facw00 1d ago

Yeah, I would hope that if 911 gets a call saying there's a problem and then a later call saying everything is fine, they'd still dispatch police/EMS to check into it, since obviously people can be coerced into saying everything is fine.
